The Tree Climbers Guild is a father-and-son community designed to help men build meaningful relationships with their boys while growing in faith, character, and practical life skills. A guild is a group of people striving together toward a common purpose—and this experience is built to help dads conquer fatherhood together through fun, structured meetings that create lasting memories and lasting discipleship. 

This 4-meeting Mission Guide walks leaders step-by-step through engaging gatherings that blend:

  • Relationship-building between dads/mentors and boys
  • Hands-on skill experiences through projects and demonstrations
  • Spiritual development through Scripture, discussion, and shared learning
  • Games, stories, and meaningful conversations that connect faith to everyday life

Unit Theme: Rocks

Step into the fascinating world of geology and discover the incredible building blocks God created to shape our world. But this isn't just about exploring what's underfoot—it’s about discovering the ultimate foundation for your life.
 
Through hands-on discovery and powerful truth, participants will learn that when life gets rocky, our true strength, help, and salvation come from the Lord—our ultimate Rock.
 
Spiritual Focus: We Ask God for Help
 
Skill Time Choices: Throughout the four weeks of Rocks there are two tracks from which to choose. The cumulative projects option incorporates the first three weeks’ projects into a final project. If you choose the weekly Skill Time option, feel free to choose projects from the cumulative track as an option for that week.

Extra Ideas + Leader Helps

  • Find out if it is possible to tour a quarry, nature center, natural history museum, or cave in your area.
  • Contact a lapidarist or jeweler and ask if he would be willing to talk to your group and bring samples or to visit him in his shop.
  • Arrange for someone with a rock collection to share it at the meeting.
  • Find a contractor in your church or in the neighborhood and have them demonstrate Concrete Work.
