Product Description

The Tree Climbers Guild is a father-and-son community designed to help men build meaningful relationships with their boys while growing in faith, character, and practical life skills. A guild is a group of people striving together toward a common purpose—and this experience is built to help dads conquer fatherhood together through fun, structured meetings that create lasting memories and lasting discipleship.

This 4-meeting Mission Guide walks leaders step-by-step through engaging gatherings that blend:

  • Relationship-building between dads/mentors and boys
  • Hands-on skill experiences through projects and demonstrations
  • Spiritual development through Scripture, discussion, and shared learning
  • Games, stories, and meaningful conversations that connect faith to everyday life

Unit Theme: Reptiles and Amphibians

Young boys love learning about and finding critters as they explore God’s Creation. This module will create a lot of excitement and interest as the boys investigate how reptiles and amphibians are alike and different, as well as the amazing variety God has created. The boys and their dads will have a growing appreciation for these amazing creatures as they learn about their importance to our environment. They will learn safe handling techniques while marveling at God’s Creation when they go Herping.

Extra Ideas + Leader Helps

The guide also includes optional extra meeting activity suggestions.

     • Plan a group field trip to a local park that has a living museum with local reptiles and amphibians.  Local zoos and/or aquariums also often have reptile and amphibian exhibits.
     • Take a family hike on rainy nights to look for amphibians - head lamps are very helpful tools
     • Check out library books about reptiles and amphibians to read together
     • Start a “photo” collection of pictures you capture of reptiles and amphibians. Put them in your field journal you have created with information about when, where, and other interesting things about your sightings
     • Go for a slow backroad evening car ride on a warm summer. Reptiles such as snakes can often be seen crossing the road as they hunt.

Tree Climbers Guild is a ready-to-use, high-energy resource that helps your ministry build strong boys, confident dads, and a community of men pursuing service and faith together.
