A guild is a group of people striving together toward a common purpose and this experience is built to help dads conquer fatherhood together through fun, structured meetings that create lasting memories and lasting discipleship.
This 4-meeting Mission Guide walks leaders step-by-step through engaging gatherings that blend:
Relationship-building between dads/mentors and boys
Hands-on skill experiences through projects and demonstrations
Spiritual development through Scripture, discussion, and shared learning
Games, stories, and meaningful conversations that connect faith to everyday life
Unit Theme: Colonial Living
Over four weeks, dads/mentors and boys will step back in time to explore how Colonial families lived, worked, played, traveled, and ate together. The Colonial time period is when mostly people from Europe traveled and then settled the land in America with their families, creating villages and communities. Every Colonial child had chores to do in order for the family to thrive. As the boys do the weekly activities and write in their
Colonial Journal, they will learn a bigger truth: God made them for relationships, and the family relationship functions well when each person does his part. Each week the boys will memorize a short Scripture verse about obedience and honor and discuss with their dad or mentor.
Spiritual Focus – We are called to serve others, following God's example.
Recommendation: With the Colonial Living module, it will be best to finish the evening with the extended project. The boys will find it easier to complete the Colonial Journal after they have played the games, completed the weekly project/activity, had the Dad/Mentor time, and studied the story.
