Clearly, God’s design for the family involves a Godly man walking with Christ personally and leading his family to do the same. There are many reasons and excuses why this doesn’t happen in every home. We don’t want to focus on problems, but rather solutions. The Manger Build gives the church a proven strategy to recruit a team of men who will pray, plan, prepare and execute a Manger Build event for the men of their church and community.
The goal is to see men build life-sized mangers with their children (or someone else’s) on a Saturday before Christmas. Then to cheer for those men as they keep Christ in front of Christmas for their families by leading a series of devotional experiences using the manger as a teaching tool.
As men step up and lead their families they share the story of God’s great gift in salvation through Jesus Christ and experience firsthand Manhood in the Manger. Not every home has a dad or responsible Godly man to step into this role so we encourage men from the church to step into these great service opportunities.
In every phase of the Manger Build, men with various skills, abilities, resources and skills are called to step up to authentic manhood. Jesus modeled this for us as he stepped away from his eternal throne to be born in Bethlehem and laid in a manger. As men follow his example, The Manger Build clearly becomes A Tool For Building Men.
